Three days in the heart of the forest: what Fibre Excellence has to say about FOREXPO 2025
From June 18 to 20, Fibre Excellence was present at FOREXPO 2025, a not-to-be-missed event for professionals in the forest-wood-paper sector, held every four years in Mimizan, in the heart of Europe's largest production forest.
This 28th edition brought together over 400 exhibitors, 500 international brands and thousands of visitors over 70 hectares of demonstrations, conferences and technical exchanges.
Exhibitors included world-renowned forestry machine manufacturers such as John Deere Forestry, Ponsse and Komatsu Forest, as well as major players in forest management. Fibre Excellence took an active part as a trade visitor, with a delegation from several Group entities.
A show at the heart of the wood industry's future challenges
FOREXPO 2025 was distinguished by a dense and varied program: open-air demonstrations, conferences, round-table discussions and technical visits punctuated the three-day show. The event highlighted the entire value chain: from forestry to wood processing, including logistics, employment, training and technological innovation.
This year, for the first time, primary wood processing, and particularly the manufacture of paper pulp, was at the heart of the discussions. This was an opportunity for Fibre Excellence to share its industrial expertise and its commitment to the sustainable management of forest resources.

Strong mobilization of Fibre Excellence teams
Fibre Excellence was represented by a delegation from several of the Group's entities: SEBSO, Enviroforesterie, as well as the mills' Direction Approvisionnement Bois (DAB). In the field, our teams held numerous discussions with industry professionals: manufacturers, cooperatives, logistics partners, researchers, institutions...
"Discussions with transporters were particularly interesting. There's a real dynamic around logistical innovation and safety", explains Paul Cuquel, Wood Transport Logistics Manager.
Julien Lacoste, Wood Buyer, agrees: "FOREXPO enables us to concentrate in a few days on a wealth of exchanges that would otherwise be impossible to reproduce. The conferences on the future of industry were particularly stimulating”.
This collective mobilization illustrates Fibre Excellence's determination to collaborate actively with all players in the sector, in a spirit of co-construction of tomorrow's solutions.

A strong presence in the forestry ecosystem
The show was also an opportunity to strengthen our institutional visibility and participate in the strategic debates that will guide the future of the forestry-wood industry.
For Thomas Petreault, Director of Communications and Public Affairs, this participation is strategic:
"I was able to exchange views with the industry's main institutions. It's a great opportunity to assert our place within the forestry ecosystem. These meetings are essential to highlight our role in the value chain, our industrial responsibility, and our concrete contribution to French forest sovereignty.”
Fibre Excellence also took part in several discussions on major issues: technological innovation, safety, employment, industrial sovereignty, not forgetting adaptation to climate change.

FOREXPO 2025, an international reach
The 2025 edition was also distinguished by its international scope, with the presence of 17 foreign delegations from Canada, Sweden, Germany, Austria, Italy and, for the first time, Brazil and India. Researchers, academics, forest engineers and representatives of cooperation organizations were able to discover French know-how and share their own experiences.
This opening confirms FOREXPO's central role as a platform for international exchanges on the challenges facing the wood, forest and paper industries worldwide.

Fibre Excellence leaves FOREXPO 2025 strengthened by rich exchanges, new prospects for collaboration and renewed recognition of its role in an industry undergoing major transformation. In the face of climatic, economic and technological challenges, the group is reaffirming its ambition: to support the major transitions in the forestry sector, while contributing to a local, responsible and sustainable economy.
